Building Cleaning

Keeping our meetinghouse clean is a shared effort that helps create a welcoming and reverent environment for everyone. Ward members volunteer to clean the building, and families work together to make the task simple and efficient.

How to Organize Building Cleaning

  1. Plan as a Team:
Coordinate with other families to choose a time that works best for everyone. Cleaning typically takes about 1–2 hours when divided among several people.

  2. Divide the Tasks:

    • Chapel & Pulpit Area: Vacuum carpets, wipe down pews, and tidy hymnbooks.
    • Classrooms & Hallways: Wipe down tables, chairs, and whiteboards; vacuum or sweep as needed.
    • Bathrooms: Sanitize sinks, toilets, and mirrors; restock supplies.
    • Kitchen & Cultural Hall: Clean countertops, mop floors, and empty trash.
    • Entryways: Vacuum mats and clean glass doors to create a welcoming first impression.
  3. Communicate with Others:
Use a shared group chat, text message, or online calendar to let others know when you’ll be cleaning. This helps avoid overlap and ensures everyone knows what’s been done.

  4. Record Your Efforts:
After cleaning, leave a note on the cleaning log (usually located in the janitorial closet) indicating the date, areas cleaned, and any supplies that may need restocking.

Thank you for your service! Your efforts help maintain a clean and inviting space for worship and learning.
